This weeks topic is: Favourite Romance Novels
I really don't read enough romance...
Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven
I read this a few weeks ago and absolutely adored it. The central focus of the story is definitely the separate journey's of the individual characters which essentially ends in a relationship. It was so sweet and charming. I need more Jennifer Niven.
Fangirl doesn't as much focus on romance as it kinda stumbled into it. Cath has anxiety, something that stops her going into the cafeteria and making friends. That is, until friendship is essentially forced on her by her roommate and her best friend Levi. Then friendship blossoms into more.
3. The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Similarly to Fangirl, The Perks of Being a Wallflower organically created a romance out of the central plot. This remains one of my favourite novels, it has so many lessons and memorable quotes that stuck with me. I still cry every time I watch or read it.
Technically, this isn't a romance. Like at all. Instead it's more of a passive aggressive revenge story. But...I can see where this is going and I'm very excited. I've only read the first volume so far.
Blackbird is kinda a paranormal romance with demons.. I love it. Misao can see into the magical realms but wants nothing to do with them. That is until she's attacked by a demon and saved by her childhood best friend Kyo...who is also a demon...
