Top 5 Wednesday: Favourite Books Featuring Vampires

What is Top 5 Wednesday?

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes on YouTube. Here is the link for the Goodreads group where you can find the list of topics and such.

This weeks topic is: Favourite Books Featuring Vampires

1. Marked by P.C. Cast

I miss this series so much. I still have a few books left to read of it though thankfully. I adore vampires in a all their varying forms but this really did something different with them. They had half vampires, that only via a rather painful change became full  vampires. Often they didn't survive the change. It remains a favourite of mine.

2. Dracula by Bram Stoker

Dracula remains one of my favourite books to this day. It makes me so very happy that I get to study this in January.

3. My Love Lies Bleeding by Alyxandra Harvey

Once again I still have some books in this series to read which makes me so very happy. Every book followed a different member of the Drake family, you really got to know each character and as the series progressed you were more connected to each and every character. This particular series has multiple versions of vampires all with slightly different characteristics. I adore it. I might have to reread this series one day.

4. Glass House by Rachel Caine

There seems to a be a tend in that the vast majority of these late 2000's series have books I've yet to read...THAT MAKES ME SO VERY HAPPY. If only I had the time to get to them all though. Morganville Vampires again twisted the typical vampire trope. They created an entire town run and inhabited by them and changed vampirism slightly. I loved all the characters in this series. Even the ones I probably shouldn't have.

5. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

This series was decidedly cheesy but I adore it. Again these aren't vampires in the typical sense. They're reincarnations from previous years. I'm talking near hundreds of years. They were determined to keep their status as immortals a secret but now it seems someone has found out.

What are some of your favourite books featuring vampires?

Thank-you for reading,
