What is Top 5 Wednesday?

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes on YouTube. Here is the link for the Goodreads group where you can find the list of topics and such.

This weeks topic is: Characters That Embody Your Hogwarts House

For those that aren't aware, I'm a Gryffindor.

1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Lysandra is most definitely a Gryffindor, for so many reasons. A lot of which she displays in Kingdom of Ashes but my first thought always comes back to Evangeline. How she took her in despite the repercussions, not being able to be free from the life she loathed. Bravery beyond measure.

I have a review for Tower of Dawn here.

I have a review for Kingdom of Ash here.

2. The Magician’s Guild by Trudi Canavan

Sonea entered the unknown multiple times in this series and did so despite her fears. She was courageous and fought for her friends, even when it meant she would be judged. She was such an inspiration in the books and grew with every passing instalment.

4. The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

Vasilisa is brilliant. Despite the fact that everyone is fighting against her and believes her to be evil she remains steadfast in her beliefs. She protects everyone, even if they don't deserve it.

I have a review for The Bear and the Nightingale here.

I have a review for The Girl in the Tower here.

4. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

All throughout the ACOTAR Feyre is the epitome of a Gryffindor but I believe A Court of Mist and Fury is the book the cemented her position as one for me. She not only fights physically but to begin with battles her own mind as a result of the events in book one and the treatment she then endures. It takes a brave woman to ask for help and an even braver one to keep going and stand up against her aggressor. Even if it's sometimes her own mind.

I have a review for A Court of Wings and Ruin here.

I have a review for A Court of Frost and Starlight here.

5. Flame in the Mist* by Renee Ahdieh

Mariko put herself in harm's way to defend herself and her people. She did so by pretending to be a boy and learning not only to fight but how to utilise her greatest weapon. Her mind. She's the perfect blend of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.

I have a review here.
