What is Top 5 Wednesday?
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes on YouTube. Here is the link for the Goodreads group where you can find the list of topics and such.
This weeks topic is: Books You Thought You'd Hate But Ended Up Loving
1. 1984 by George Orwell

I didn't have the best of luck when it came to enjoying my reading lists last semester, that is until I got to my dystopias section. I thought 1984 was going to take me weeks to finish, but I flew through it. I'd finished it within three days and wished there had been a sequel. I can't wait to get some time to read some more Orwell.

3. Orlando by Virginia Woolf

4. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Tied with Dracula, Frankenstein is now my favourite classic. I have multiple editions including a beautiful clothbound one Sam got me. It's so dark and twisted with more moral lessons than you can count. The setting is so vivid, the characters tangible. A real masterpiece and Shelley was only sixteen when she wrote it!

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Jane Eyre had been a book I'd always wanted to read but my previous aversion to Classics made me think it'd be another one I wasn't particularly fond of. Oh, how wrong I was. I loved everything about this. It took me a while to read simply because I didn't want it to end!
