Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Didn’t Get to In 2017

What is Top 5 Wednesday?

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes on YouTube. Here is the link for the Goodreads group where you can find the list of topics and such.

This weeks topic is: Books You Didn't Get to In 2017

1.Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

I've said to myself for years that I want to read this. I know it's one that I'm going to love but I just haven't yet got to it. I think it's the size that intimidates me. Particularly at the moment with Uni, large books have been put on hold in favour of getting through my required reading. I might try and participate in a Tome Topple readathon (hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes) to get through this one this year.

2. This Savage Song by V.E Schwab

I read and adored the books of the Shades of Magic series in 2017 and promised myself that I was going to read all of V.E Schwab's backlist. That didn't happen...so I plan on doing it within 2018.

I have a review for A Gathering of Shadows here

I have a review for A Conjuring of Light here

3. Geekerella by Ashley Poston

So many people told me to read this in 2017... I wanted to be one of them alas. I never got to it. I think Fi (fabulous blog here) and Kimi (equally fabulous book blog here) are liable to hunt me down if I don't read this soon...

4. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak

The Book Thief is such a highly acclaimed novel now and I just need to get to it. I know I'm going to love it. It's set in a period of history I'm incredibly interested in and have been for years. I will have read this by the end of 2018.

5. The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern

After reading Caraval by Stephanie Garber (review here) I wanted all the circus literature...and I read none of the circus literature. Okay thats a slight lie, I read Freeks by Amanda Hocking (review here) but the one that I kept telling myself I was going to read was the Night Circus. And I didn't... this year...this year...

Please hold me accountable and make sure I read these!

What books didn't you get to in 2017? Do you plan to read them this year?

Thank-you for reading,

This was me with Withering Heights! However, I’m determined to read more Classics this year. I’m going to be joining in with the Bronte 200 book club this year…let’s see how well that goes!
