What is Top 5 Wednesday?

Books from Before You Joined ________

1. Marked by P.C. Cast

I was probably a little younger than I should've been when I read this series. There's an awful lot of adult content... However, the plot is absolutely fantastic. As are the characters. In this world vampires are chosen, marked with a crescent moon on their forehead. Only when they become a 'full' vampire does the crescent fill and tattoos appear, usually depicting a trait of theirs. If you like series set in schools then you'll love this.

3. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

I always describe this series as my 'hot chocolate and blanket' book. Its such a romantic feel good series...for the most part.  It definitely gets dark every now and again. One aspect that I really loved about this series is how they playing with the werewolf myth. Instead of the full moon changing them, it was the change in seasons. By winter they were wolves, come the start of spring they were human again. Very different.

1. Glass House by Rachel Caine

There are now over fifteen books in this series and I can't remember for the life of me where I got up to. However, what I did read I adored. Set in a town called Morganville our main character Claire has been accepted into MIT, her parents wanted her to have a normal experience and so convinced her to take classes in a regular college. What they don't know is the town is run by vampires and once you arrive you can't leave...

4. Wings by Aprilynne Pike

Prior to joining the blogging and bookstagram community I went through a huge fae period. I couldn't get enough of them. This was one of the series I read during that time. I absolutely adored it.

2. Die for Me by Amy Plum

This remains one of my favourite series to date and not just because its set in Paris. I adore this series. We meet a group of revenants, people that die time and time again in order to save others. It's virtually impossible for them to resist. The main character Kate meets a group of revenants as they attempt to save her. It's her that she meets Vincent Delacroix, a dashing and perpetually dying gentleman. But it's rather difficult watching someone you care about die all the time.
