This is an ongoing series so this review is likely to contain spoilers for the previous volumes and of course the current one I'm writing about.
I loved this volume. We start in the catacombs with The Chasseurs who are now working with Vanitas and Noe to find Doctor Moreau, a scientist experimenting on vampires that was thought to be long dead. A former member of The Chasseurs, but who was expelled for his unorthodox methods. Vanitas believes he's been kidnapping Curse Bearing vampires. The entire exchange with this group upon finding him was brilliant. We learned that Vanitas had a history with the Doctor too and one that seemed rather difficult. I like that with both Noe and Vanitas their histories are slowly being revealed.
Pieces of the story are coming together now, Charlatan, Doctor Moreau and the masked man are all involved somehow and I can't figure out how they're linked.
And oh my god! How Noe and Vanitas pulled that vampire back out. That was insane. So clever.
Ruthven...I don't like him. I'm scared for Noe and what this 'swear' means. I have a feeling I know how it's going to go and it isn't going to end well for anyone involved.
Vanitas and Jeanne's date was so cute. Even if it was Jeanne's attempt to try and get Vanitas off her back. I have a funny feeling she's changing her mind about him though. He was just so sweet to her, how he showed her all the places she's never really got to experience before.
