Skincare That Doesn’t Break The Bank

I feel as though I'm incredibly late on the bandwagon with this one. Six months (ish) ago everyone was talking abut The Ordinary. I took an awfully long time researching which products would work best for my particular skin type and at first I was over-faced. The products have such scary names and its difficult to figure out what does what. Now, I feel as though I've chosen a great group that really work for my skin. I must admit as well I had pictures taken for this post ages ago then when I looked at the to edit (after I had finished some of the products) on every single picture there was a solitary dog hair. I was not happy. So I waited till I repurchased to work on this post...again.

If I even feel a breakout coming on I run to my cupboard and grab the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution and slather my face in it. Since using this I've had far fewer breakouts (touches every wood item in the vicinity) and my skin texture feels far better. When I ran out of this for the first time I went into such a panic. The acid is clear and slightly sticky as you apply it but dries very quickly. It can be applied under makeup all over the face or as a spot treatment. I tended to just use this as a spot treatment during the day and all over at night a few times a week.

Next is the Niacinamide 10+% + Zinc 1% and truth be told I haven't used this one enough to give a proper opinion on it. The name suggests that its meant to help regulate sebum and minimise pores. I can't remember feeling like that when I used it but it didn't have an adverse effect on my skin.

The last of the acids is the Hylaruonic Acid 2% + B5 and I've run out of this for the second time and I don't know what to do with my life.. It's incredible and my skin seems to love it. If you're wanting to try anything from The Ordinary I'd recommend this!

The High Adherence Silicone Primer isn't kidding when it says high adherence. I've never known my foundation to last as long. Even a few foundations that I'd had issues with in the past worked better when I'd used this! Another one I'd recommend giving a go.

Finally, The Azeliac Acid Suspension 10% when I use this my skin feels so soft and looks so bright! Exactly what this is meant to do. I wouldn't suggest continuous use of this though. I found that my skin became a lot more sensitive which it isn't normally, but as a treatment once a week it's wonderful.

The Ordinary is famed for their fantastic products at incredible prices which is what appealed to me to begin with. I wanted to expand my skin care routine but didn't want to have to break the bank in order to do so. There's so many more products from this line I want to give a go and some that I know my mum wants to try! I've already got her addicted to the caffeine solution. She loves it for her under-eyes!

Have you tried any of The Ordinary products?

What did you think?

Thank-you for reading,
