Books Fairy Loot Unboxings

May Fairyloot

June 14, 2018

This box had my name written all over it. May's theme was Save the Kingdom. How perfect is that? Kick ass characters all the way? Yes please! I loved the theme and I think the artwork is my favourite so far! Every box seems to top the last and the book for this month. Oh my. It's absolutely stunning and sounds incredible.

This book sounds right up my alley. Betrayal, political intrigue, forbidden magic and a complex relationship. Yes please. I can't remember ever seeing or hearing anything about this book but I think it's going to end up being a favourite of mine. It has dragons, kind of, evil dragons by the sound of it. Yet another beautiful cover from Fairyloot too.

**Taken from the back of the book**

They call her Traitor Kate. It's a title Kate Brighton inherited from her father after he tried to assassinate the high king of Rhine. Cast out of the nobility, she now works for the royal courier service. Only the most skilled ride for the Relay and only the fastest survive, for when the night falls, the night drakes - deadly flightless dragons - come out to hunt. Fortunately, Kate has a secret edge: She is a wilder, born with forbidden magic that allows her to influence the minds of animals.

And it's this magic that leads her to a caravan massacred by drakes in broad daylight - the only survivor Corwin Tormane, the son of the king. Her first love, the boy she swore to forget after he condemned her father to death. With their paths once more entangled, Kate and Corwin must put the past behind them to face this new threat of drakes who attack in the daylight and the darker menace behind them.

I love booksleeves, I'm incredibly precious about my books and hate when they get damaged so having these makes a neat freak like me so happy...AND ITS WATERPROOF. It helps when they're as beautiful as this one. I haven't yet read the An Ember in the Ashes series but I will be doing, soon. This An Ember in the Ashes themed sleeve was designed by the incredible Reverie & Ink.

Page flags make me happy. They mean I don't have to bend the pages in books and they're a life saver when it comes to exams and revision. The fact that these ones are Throne of Glass themed are even better. If only there was a picture of Rowan on them...Everything that Fiction Tea designs I adore. I really need to get my hands on some of her bookmarks.

Considering how many cups of tea and coffee I drink I need a plethora of coasters. When they're as pretty as this one designed by Evie Bookish it makes me even happier. I haven't yet read The Winners Trilogy but I have them and they sound fantastic. I really need to get ahead of my mountainous TBR and pick up some more of Evie's designs...

I survive on tea. And gin...but mainly tea. I always love getting a new blend to try and English Breakfast tea is one of my favourites. I've never tried anything from The Tea Leaf Co. before but I'm excited to try it.

There's nothing more relaxing than a bath...especially one with a bath bomb. I adore them. This bath bomb from Little Hearts Gifts looks, and smells phenomenal. AND ITS A CASTLE. A Castle! This bath bomb is themed around this months book. I can't wait to see how this place is described in the novel. I wonder if it smells the same too...

I'm obsessive when it comes to skincare, which includes my lips. I can't be without sugar scrubs, they're fantastic and it's even better when they smell so good. This one from Geeky Clean is called Dalbreck and smells of melon. The other two you could have received in the box were Venda and Morrighan.

I adore the prints that were included this month. Taratjah always makes such beautiful art for the Fairyloot boxes. And the beautiful character art for Onyx and Ivory by Emily Haynes. Both are already on my wall.

And as for publisher swag we got some fabulous stuff this month. I love the Legendary card, the book itself was great and I can't wait to use the Smoke in the Sun card when I get a hold of the book.

So that was my May Fairyloot Unboxing!
