Books Fairy Loot Unboxings

May Fairyloot

Fairyloot

A somewhat belated May Fairyloot Unboxing, in fairness I have been on holiday and a little under the weather. That's my excuse...it's definitely not the fact that I binged all of Lucifer, The Society and Jessica Jones in the last few weeks. Regardless I hope this unboxing is worth the wait. The box certainly was. This, or rather last months theme, (whoops) was Unlikely Romances. Everyone roots for the underdog couple I feel, or at least I tend to. There were so many beautiful items in this box. It's hard to pick a favourite.

The Beholder by Anna Bright

The Beholder had been on my radar for a little while after I saw ARCS appearing on Instagram but I wasn't entirely sure what it was about and I definitely didn't have this pegged as the May book. But it sounds wonderful to me. I have seen it getting some mixed opinions but really what book doesn't.

**Taken from the book**

Selah has waited her whole life for a happily ever after. As the only daughter of the leader of Potomac, she knows her duty is to find the perfect match, a partner who will help secure the future of her people. Now that day has finally come.

But when the night of Selah's engagement ends in an excruciatingly public rejection, her stepmother suggests proposes the unthinkable: Selah must set sail across the Atlantic, where a series of potential suitors awaits—and if she doesn’t come home engaged, she shouldn’t come home at all.

From English castle gardens to the fjords of Norge, and even beyond the borders of the dreaded Imperiya Yotne, Selah’s quest will be the journey of a lifetime. But as she searches for her future husband, she realises her stepmother’s schemes aren’t the only secrets hiding belowdecks…and the stakes of her voyage may be higher than any happy ending.

Oh, this design has my heart. Again I haven't read the book it's inspired by, I know I bet we're all shocked. I still think it's gorgeous and I am planning on reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone soon. I use pencil cases and pouches for anything and everything. It's a quiet day if I have got at least three other bags inside of my regular bag with random things in. This pencil case was designed by Literary Lifestyle Company and I'll be stalking their shop from now on.

I've read this book! Well at least one of them. I read Flame in the Mist a little while ago and adored it. I loved all the characters and the writing so I can't wait to read the sequel and also pick up Renee's other series The Wrath and the Dawn. I do love a good bookmark too. These awesome magnetic bookmarks were designed by @lexaarts_.

Yes to all the candles. I love this one, honestly, I love anything A Court of Thorns and Roses themed, or more specifically Rhys themed. This candle smells super fresh. Its notes are bamboo, fresh lilies and soft wood, you can definitely smell the lilies. It was created by Little Hearts Gifts and the label was designed by Taratjah.

I'm waiting to get a clear case for my laptop then it's going to get absolutely covered in bookish stickers. This one included. It's so cute. We have Magnus and Alec from Cassie Clare's Shadowhunter books looking lovingly into each other's eyes. This sticker was designed by @obsidiayan.

Another two tarot cards to add to the collection. This time featuring Kaz and Inej. Their portraits were done by @artbyemmilinne. I can't wait to show you June's tarot cards. They're just as beautiful.

I'll never say no to anything I can put a brew in. This adorable little travel mug is not only super pretty but eco-friendly! It's made of bamboo, lighter than a ceramic travel mug and can take the place of those disposable paper cups. I love the colour palette on this one too. It's designed by the wonderful KDP Letters and Inspired by Tahereh Mafi's Ignite Me. A series I really need to read.

I have more keyrings on my keys than I know what to do with. I certainly couldn't sneak into the house if I wanted too that's for sure. I plan on keeping this keyring for future use, however. It's super cute and designed by Fairyloot themselves! It's inspired by The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. A series I know I'm going to love simply from the quote around the crown - 'kiss me until I am sick of it'.

I've hidden this from my parents and Sam. I've never known people to go through so many tea towels! It's too pretty to use anyway. This tea towel was designed by two amazing artists. Taratjah created the character art and catarinabookishdesigns created the lettering on this one. It's based on The Selection books by Keira Cass. I have these books....I just haven't got to them yet.

I don't want to think about how many notepads I own and how many just lie in my drawer unused. I just feel so much pressure to get the first page in them done neatly. This notepad is themed around Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan, a previous Fairyloot book. I see what you did there, paper and fire. Notebook. Clever.

Quite simply I love this. I'm the one that's always wanting chewing gum or mints so this was perfect and I chuckle at the tin every time I see it. Sam was also most amused and has been snaffling the mints too. They're surprisingly strong for such tiny things. This was designed by Fairyloot.

This months bookmark and spoiler card were once again designed by Taratjah. Beautiful as usual. Then this months character art was created by @rachelhanke27. I love this portrait.

So that was my May Fairyloot Unboxing!
