I squealed when I opened this box. Literally, squealed. I'll explain why later on. However, it seems every Fairyloot box just keeps getting better and better. This month there was a bit of an issue with one of the items, where the design ended up being printed in reverse. Meaning I mirror was required to see it. I haven't bothered including that in this unboxing but we are being sent a replacement item eventually! I adored the theme for this box, The Power Within. Love it.
I'd seen Heart of Thorns knocking about online and fell in love with the cover. Honestly, I was going to order it just because of how beautiful I thought it was. I know I know. you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover BUT LOOK. Besides the plot sounds amazing too!
**Taken from book**
In a world where only woman can posses magic - and every woman is suspected of having it - the half-girl, half-god Gwyrach are feared, reviled, and hunted. After training under her father and his infamous Hunters, Mia is determined to scour the four kingdoms and enact the Hunters' Creed: Heart for a heart, life for a life.
But then her father announces a quite different future: She will marry Prince Quin, heir to the throne. Just like that, smart, headstrong Mia is thrust into the last role she ever wanted: pretty, wifely bauble to the future King.
So on the eve of her wedding, Mia plots a daring escape, only to discover the unimaginable: She has magic. She may be a Huntress, but she's also a Gwyrach.
As the truth comes to light, Mia must untangle the secrets of her own past. Friends darken into foes and logic begins to fray - as do the rules she has always played by. If Mia wants to survive, she must learn to trust her heart... even if it kills her.
I love these mugs! I think they're such a fun idea. This one, though you can't see here features a design by Little Inkling based on Morgan Rhodes Falling Kingdom series. A set of books I've yet to read but know I'm more than likely going to love!
Geeky Clean is one of my favourite brands to see included in subscription boxes. Everything I've tried from them has been amazing and their room spray is no different. I absolutely adore it. Based on one of the characters from Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch, which I have read! It's scent is lavender and books...what could be more perfect?
I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of Sky in the Deep for ages and I just haven't found it in the UK anywhere! Either way I love this sticker. I plan to get a clear case for my laptop so I can actually put the bookish stickers I've collected to use rather than just stuck on the walls with bluetack. This one was deigned by Reverie and Ink! Another brand Fairyloot works with a lot, thank god! Their designs are stunnnning.
Anything Harry Potter themed is a winner with me, but this pen is just so freaking adorable. The quote on it is so cute too,"Don't chase the quarrel is you see the snitch". Such a lovely message and so well designed. Bravo Fairyloot! For me, Harry Potter, like many others was a door through which I found a love of books and by extension the bookish world. It holds a special place in my heart.
This is the item that made me squeal. That had me giddy and open mouthed. Children of Blood and Bone has fast become one of my favourite novels, and Tomi one of my favourite people. Not just authors. This stunning illustration of Zelie is by Diana Worak and I'm very tempted to get it framed.
As always our bookmark and spoiler card have been designed by the incredibly talented Taratjah. I adore this months theme too, such a beautiful illustration. I can't wait to have an office and paper the walls with her work.
Then the letter fro the author, which now always features fan art (YAY), was illustrated by Noverantale. It reminds me of my favourite graphic novels and animes with the pastel colours. Big fan big fan.
Finally, for publisher swag we received this really cute postcard for Sweet Black Waves...which is also on the bookish wall(s).
So that was my July Fairyloot Unboxing!
Have you tried any bookish subscription boxes before?
What did you think? And what was your favourite item from this box?
