July Fairyloot 2020

Here I am again, beating the same drum for another Fairyloot unboxing. Yes, this post is behind and yes this was another amazing box with some of my favourite items in. I might just start copy and pasting my previous intros from other unboxings. They tend to be the same... whoops. I was thrilled to see a completely new kind of item in this box! This month's theme was Resilient Royals.

Shielded by Kaylynn Flanders

I vaguely remember seeing the cover of Shielded by Kaylynn Flanders on Instagram and thought how cool it looked but never got around to checking out the synopsis. I have now, safe to say I'm excited.

**Synopsis taken from book**

The Kingdom of Halendi is in trouble. It's losing the war at its borders, and rumours of a new, deadlier threat have surfaced. Princess Jennesara knows her skills on the battlefield would make her an asset and wants to help, but her father has other plans.

Second-born heir to the throne, Jenna lacks the firstborn's -her older brother's- magical abilities, so the king promises her hand in marriage to the prince of neighbouring Turia in exchange for the resources Halendi needs. Jenna has no choice; she must leave behind everything she has ever known if she is to give her people a chance at peace.

On the journey to reach her betrothed and new home, the royal caravan is ambushed, and Jenna realises the rumours were wrong, the threat is worse than anyone imagined. Now Jenna must decide if revealing a dangerous secret is worth the cost before it's too late - for her and the entire kingdom.

What a good idea! I love how unique this item is, we've never had a food tray before. It's the perfect size for carrying up a coffee and tea in the morning. The beautiful design was by eviebookish and themed around Winter by Marissa Meyer. The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favourite book series of all time.

I can't get over how pretty this cardholder is. When the one I have now is finished with I'll be using this. It was designed by jezhawk and features symbols from The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross.

Whilst I don't really use magnetic books marks, or any traditional bookmarks (old cinema tickets are my go-to) these are super cute. They are based on Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibanez which was a previous Fairyloot book in the January Moon and Stars box.

I wish it was easier for us to get the inthewickoftime candles in the UK but for now, I'll settle for getting them in Fairyloot boxes. This one is called The Ash Crown and based on The Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian. It smells outrageous, super sweet and fruity. Its main component is Black Currant Tea

I think this is my favourite cushion Fairyloot has ever done. I adoreeed House of Earth and Blood when I read it and still think about the characters. Such a phenomenal world. This stunning cushion cover was designed by chattynora.

I want a frame for this now. The Bear and the Nightingale series is a favourite of mine. It's everything you want in a fantasy series and more besides. Dark, moody, amazing setting, characters, magic - the whole package. I feel like dominiquewesson captured Morozko's eyes perfectly in this.

This month's tarot cards feature characters from V.E. Schwab's The Shades of Magic series and illustrated by Katherine Britt.

Every month the spoiler card and bookmark are designed by Taratjah.

The gorgeous character art is by faeriereverie.
