It's one I'd always wanted to try if only for the accolade of having read it. I didn't think I was going to love it this much.
Getting to see Jane grown from child to accomplished woman was such a wonderful narrative experience. She developed so much and really came into her own. It was easy to like her and sympathise with her. I appreciate the fact that she stuck to her morals and didn't let anyone, despite how tempting an offer they gave her, to tear her from that path.
I found each character very unique within the novel. They had a function in Jane's life and fulfilled it. I particularly loved how Adele interacted with her, and honestly every character. She was such an adorable little girl.
There isn't a great deal of action in the conventional sense but I still found myself gasping and shocked at certain reveals. I was compelled to keep reading and at the same time didn't want the story to end! I can see myself rereading this one in a few years.
