There was no way I wasn't going to love this. It's Frankenstein. Frankenstein with pictures.
This graphic novel has everything that I loved about the book when I first read it. The mixed media element of Walton's letters was lovely however I did struggle at times to puzzle out the font. It added to the effect but made it difficult to read. Without having already read Frankenstein in it's entirety I probably would've had a bit of an issue with that.
Gris' illustration fit perfectly with the tone of Frankenstein whilst still adding a modern and alternative twist. Elizabeth's hair was certainly interesting to say the least.
If you've been wanting to read Frankenstein but the thought of the novel is a bit daunting this is an excellent place to start. Or, if like me you're a massive fan of the book it's a great way to re-read this one too!
