Wow. What a way to start out the Collectors Edition Boxes. I've been impatiently, yeah you read that right, waiting for this to arrive, obsessively checking the status of shipping since I order the Finale Collectors box. It's incredible. There was so much detail down to how the items were packaged and the actual box itself. It's decidedly larger than the normal monthly box and is burgundy instead. It's all just so special. I'll definitely be checking out their future collector's editions!
On to the unboxing!
Firstly this cover. Oh my. How stunning. The regular UK edition is red and white with red sprayed edges. The Fairyloot edition is similar to the original Caraval jacket. It's black and white with rose gold foiling and black sprayed edges. These exclusive editions are one of the main reasons I adore Fairyloot so much.
**Taken from the blurb**
It’s been two months since the Fates were freed from a deck of cards, two months since Legend claimed the throne for his own, and two months since Tella discovered the boy she fell in love with doesn’t really exist.
With lives, empires, and hearts hanging in the balance, Tella must decide if she’s going to trust Legend or a former enemy. After uncovering a secret that upends her life, Scarlett will need to do the impossible. And Legend has a choice to make that will forever change and define him.
Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun. There are no spectators this time: only those who will win, and those who will lose everything.
Welcome, welcome to Finale. All games must come to an end…
I'm so excited about these cards. I've always loved playing games from being a little girl. I'd sit and play chase the ace, new market and blackjack with my grandparents. The ace, jack, queen and king feature some of the fates as their illustrations. I can't quite tell who is who but Jacks is definitely the Jack...duh. These were designed by noverantale who did the box and back of the cards and the character art was by lexaarts_.
This candle just smells and looks insane. It's as if they bottled the smell of magic and sprinkled glitter on it! The scent is fresh but still sweet somehow. I genuinely haven't ever smelt anything like this before. The label was illustrated by noverantale and the candle itself was created by bookishburns. The theme of this candle is Midnight Maze which was one of my favourite scenes in the book!
These magnetic bookmarks are adorable and went straight up onto the art wall. I couldn't bare the thought of hiding them away in a book! This set was created by idlestuff and features Jacks, Legend, Julian, Scarlett and Tella. One of the coolest things is that they were hand wrapped in reycyled paper! They're so detailed. I'll definitely be looking at more bookmarks from this creator.
I nearly have enough booksleeves to put the entirity of the Throne of Glass saga in....I'll never say no to another booksleeve. They've changed reading on the move for me now. I've always been terrified of my books getting damaged after an illfated incident with The Novice by Trudi Canavan where it got damp through my bag! This booksleeve features a beautiful illustration of Legend by Taratjah.
Oh the noise I made when I saw this was not human. It has now become mine (and Sam's) favourite blanket. It's so soft and snuggly whilst looking so beautiful. It compliments my cushion covers beautifully. The illustration was designed by monolimeart. It was so hard to get a good photo to show this off, I had to get my Dad to help!
I have more mugs than I know what to do with. I've started using them as decorations on my shelves but I'm swiftly running out of room. This stunning mug features both Tella and Scarlett with the Caraval tent behind them. It was created by sallteas with lettering by catarinabookdesigns. It feels so sturdy too. I'm not sure if I can bare putting a drink in it!
Pins glorious pins! I'm going to have to start rotating the ones I put on my jacket. I absolutely adore both of these pins and I think it's great that two different designers worked on the set! The top hat pin was by dust and pages and the aracle pin was by iceydesigns (whose work I've obsessed over for years). I think I'll be wearing the top hat today!
A MINI LEGEND! I really hope that Fairyloot releases these for more characters in the future. He's currently sat on the top of one of my shelves surveying the room like it's his kingdom...which it kind of is.
I'm shocked at how good this lip balm is. I'm normally very scared to venture away from my tried and trusted Nivea lip butter. Horrifyingly, I couldn't find it the other day and tried this one. I'm a convert. It's brilliant and smells divine. The name makes me giggle, a kiss worth dying for. It was created by littleheartsgifts.
HOW PRETTY. I love prints, cards, and art of any kind. These character prints are gorgeous and so so detailed. They feature Jacks, Tella, Scarlett, Julian and Legend... of course. These were by niru.sky.
My bookmark collection is growing exponentially. I adore these double-sided bookmarks...so much so that I've had to stick them on the wall. I love the illustration style. These were designed by arz28.
Finally, we received this super cute playing card necklace. I love it. It's so Caraval...
