December Fairyloot 2019

I'm getting closer and closer to posting these unboxings on time! I'm only a month behind now. I've just received my January box and its so cute, post coming soon...hopefully. December's box was fantastic and I loved the theme too, Defying the Odds. We also received two books from Fairyloot this month, the regular hardback and an arc. I love the sound of both books and they both sound completely different from one another.

Eight Will Fall by Sarah Harian

I had never heard of Eight Will Fall but from the synopsis, it sounds great. It appears to be a mix of a few genres; dystopia, fantasy and sci-fi. I can't wait to pick this one up.

**Synopsis**

In a land where magic is outlawed, eight criminals led by seventeen-year-old Larkin are sent on a mission to kill an ancient evil that plagues their kingdom. Descending into an underground realm full of unspeakable horrors, Larkin and her party must use their forbidden magic to survive what lies in wait, teeth sharp and jaws deadly.

As she fights for her life, Larkin finds a light in Amias, a fellow outlaw with a notorious past. Soon Larkin and Amias realize their fates are entwined. The eight of them were chosen for a reason.

But as the dangers multiply and her band of felons are picked off one by one, Larkin must confront a terrible truth: They were never meant to return.

Wicked as You Wish by Rin Chupeco

Excitingly, as I mentioned above, we also received an ARC/Proof in this box. I haven't read anything by Rin Chupeco yet but I do own the Bone Witch and have been waiting to read that one. Wicked As You Wish sounds perfect for me, magic and political manoeuvring. This one is due out on 3rd March 2020.

**Synopsis**

Tala Warnock has little use for magic – as a descendant of Maria Makiling, the legendary Filipina heroine, she negates spells, often by accident. But her family’s old ties to the country of Avalon (frozen, bespelled, and unreachable for almost 12 years) soon finds them guarding its last prince from those who would use his kingdom’s magic for insidious ends.

And with the rise of dangerous spelltech in the Royal States of America; the appearance of the firebird, Avalon’s deadliest weapon, at her doorstep; and the re-emergence of the Snow Queen, powerful but long thought dead, who wants nothing more than to take the firebird's magic for her own – Tala’s life is about to get even more complicated….

I'm already surprised by how much use I've gotten out of this little microfibre cloth. I love how pretty it is too, the quote feels like it was made for me. The amount of times I've lost track reading at night is ridiculous. This was designed by literarylifeco

This is now my new favourite pin and a reminder to channel my inner fire breathing bitch queen, which I think we all need to do every once in a while. This pin was designed by bookmarkd.tattoos and is inspired by Sarah J Maas' Throne of Glass.

I haven't read the Wrath and the Dawn but I want to as I loved Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. These socks are the softeset thign ever and we designed by team Fairyloot.

Finally! A Red Rising themed item! For those that haven't been here long, I'm obsessed with that series, some might say unhealthily so. It isn't spoken about as much as I believe it deserves so every time I see any merch I get so excited. This pouch was designed by chattynora.
