Books Fairy Loot Unboxings

December Fairyloot

January 4, 2019

Another year of Fairyloot comes to a close and it finished with a bang. Well, a roar maybe. This months theme was Dragons. My favourite of the mythical beasts and the one I'd have if I had the chance. I had no idea what the book was going to be and at this point I've stopped guessing. I'd rather be surprised. I loved this box so so much.

I had no idea this book existed but it sounds absolutely incredible. Absolutely incredible. I mean WERE DRAGONS.

**Taken from the book**

Leading your first heist is a major milestone--even more so than learning to talk, walk, or do long division. It's a chance to gain power and acceptance within your family, and within society. But stealing your first treasure can be complicated, especially when you're a wyvern--a human capable of turning into a dragon.

Embarking on a life of crime is never easy, and Sky discovers secrets about her mother, who recently went missing, the real reason her boyfriend broke up with her, and a valuable jewel that could restore her family's wealth and rank in their community.

With a handpicked crew by her side, Sky knows she has everything she needs to complete her first heist, and get her boyfriend and mother back in the process. But then she uncovers a dark truth about were-dragon society--a truth more valuable and dangerous than gold or jewels could ever be.

I'm so glad we got this reading journal at the start of the year. The other one was from June I think and if I'm honest I didn't really use it. But I'm going to make a concerted effort to use this one! It's designed by Fiction Tea with art from Blanca Montiel.

I can't wait to put this pin flag up and actually have a place to display all the beautiful bookish pins I have. At the moment they're just in a box. I imagine this will get filled up pretty quickly!

GLOW IN THE DARK. Yes this is a glow in the dark dragon necklace designed by Fairyloot. I can't wait to wear this. I think I've got the perfect outfit in mind for it too.

I will never say no to a book sleeve. I passed one onto my mum to use and mine has been slowly falling apart. I'm so happy to have one to replace it with when it does finally go. The fact that it's Harry Potter themed makes me love it all the more. This was designed by Sweet Sequels.

I love when Fairyloot includes ARCS and this one sounds incredible.

In the tropical kingdom of Rhodaire, magical, elemental Crows are part of every aspect of life...until the Illucian empire invades, destroying everything.
That terrible night has thrown Princess Anthia into a deep depression. Her sister Caliza is busy running the kingdom after their mother's death, but all Thia can do is think of all she has lost.
But when Caliza is forced to agree to a marriage between Thia and the crown prince of Illucia, Thia is finally spurred into action. And after stumbling upon a hidden Crow egg in the rubble of a rookery, she and her sister devise a dangerous plan to hatch the egg in secret and get back what was taken from them.

Abraxos, Manon and Toothless. How am I to decide which side I display? I think I might have to alternate this every month! I adore Diana Worak's art. Fairyloot has included a fair few of her prints over the months and I've loved every single one. I can't wait to eventually have an office to put these in.

They promised and they delivered! The tarot cards have begun to appear in the boxes. This time featuring Amren and Azriel from A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. (I think). I'm 99% sure it's those two anyway.

Finally we have the monthly art and character art as always by Taratjah!

There should've been another item in this both. A magnetic bookmark set also by Taratjah but there was an error in shipping and it should be here shortly.

So that was my December Fairyloot Unboxing!

Have you tried any bookish subscription boxes before?

What did you think? And what was your favourite item from this box?

Thank-you for reading,
