Biannual Bibliothon TBR

I've never participated in a Read-A-Thon before but considering I still have a week before lectures start again I thought what better time! It helps that this particular Read-A-Thon is hosted by some of my favourite bookish people. Head to the Biannual Bibliothon Instagram for a full list of hosts and Video/Blog/ Insta challenges.

This rounds reading challenges are as follows:

 1. Read the group book: OTHERWORLD by Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller

2. Read a sequel

3. Read a book you've never heard of before

4. Read a book about mental illness

5. Read a book that was mentioned in another book/movie/show etc.

6. Read a book under 200 pages

7. Read a backlist title

Otherworld by Jason Segel and Kristen Miller

I've heard a lot about this on BookTube and knew I was going to pick it up eventually, the Biannual Bibliothon gave me the perfect reason to get it. That and I adore Jason Segel. Marshall is without question one of the best characters in How I Met Your Mother. After reading the synopsis this reminds me so much of Ready Player One and Sword Art Online. There seems to be some kind of VR game that the entirety of your senses gets in immersed in. I can't wait to start this.

Iron Gold* by Pierce Brown

I'm still in the middle of Iron Gold by Pierce Brown so I'm sneaking this one into my TBR...a very last minute edition as you can see it wasn't in the group picture! Iron Gold is set ten years after the events of Morning Star and though it's considered a follow on trilogy it still follows on! If you haven't read this series yet I highly recommend it!

5. Memory of Water by Emmi Itaranta

This was a complete cover buy. I've not seen this reviewed anywhere nor am I entirely sure what this book entails and I want to keep it that way. I think this is perfect for this challenge.

4. Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven

All The Bright Places was one of my absolute favourite books and when I heard this was being released I couldn't wait. Then I just didn't get to it. From what I believe Holding Up The Universe has some representation of mental illness though I am not entirely sure in what form. I will report back if I manage to read it.

Dr. Jekyll and My Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

I've been wanting to read more Classics for ages and Jekyll and Hyde has been on my radar for years. In fact it will be on my Classics I want to read this year post coming soon! I went with Jekyll and Hyde for this challenged as its mentioned in Gilmore girls. In fact there is around 300+ books mentioned in that series and I aim to read all of them over my life. But this is what I'll start with.

Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire

I still can't believe I haven't read Every Heart a Doorway. I know I'm going to love it and it hopefully won't take me long! This novel is all about the children that return back to the real world after ending up in places like Narnia. How they're treated as though they're mad because no-one has experienced what they have. I cannot wait to give this a go.

Rogue by Julie Kagawa

I had originally planned to use this novel for the sequel but considering I'm still on Iron Gold this I'll pop in as an extra for the backlist. Admittedly, a few of the books I've picked could double up for this task but I love a challenge. Rogue is the second novel in the Talon series. This follows Ember, a dragon in her human form as she attempts to live undetected with her brother Dante.

That's my TBR for the Biannual Bibliothon.

What are you planning to read?

Any of these?

Thank-you for reading,
