August Wrap Up

Clearly, I had an epic reading month... After a slow start whilst on holiday I quickly got into the reading mood when I got back home. Not only did I read a lot but the quality of the books I read this month was way up there too. I don't think I had a bad read at all, in fact I know I didn't have a bad read. It was a very Sci-Fi heavy month too. Not something I'll ever complain about.

Also, NEW PIERCE BROWN. YAAAAS.

Seraph of the End V16

Seraph of the End V16

I've been steadily catching up with this series over the last few months. It's been a favourite of mine for years and for whatever reason I went through a phase where I hardly read any manga. It's been so much fun getting back into reading them and I've very nearly caught up now!

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

After what feels like years of nagging by friends I finally picked up Good Omens and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a few issues with the narration style, like the footnotes and how often we jumped perspectives within a chapter but I did love the story. Oh, the humour. It was brilliant. I can't wait to read more of each author individually.

A Chain Across the Dawn* by Drew Williams

A Chain Across the Dawn* by Drew Williams

I was super excited to take part in this blog tour. I loved the premise of the book and when I actually started reading this I fell in love. I can't wait to read the other books in this series. It's very Guardians of the Galaxy-esque. I adored all the characters and honestly feel like I've found a new favourite.

This Mortal Coil* by Emily Suvada

This Mortal Coil* by Emily Suvada

This Mortal Coil* is a new favourite. I read the first and second book, as you can see, in a frenzy. I needed more and more of the story. It's unlike anything I've ever read before. There is so much tech and science in the story but it's easy to grasp and enhances rather than encumbers the story. The characters are also incredible. Like every single one.

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

I can't thank Kimi and Fi enough for finally pushing me to read The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. I have a new favourite series. The cast of characters makes this book. You fall in love with each of them a little bit. Rosemary, Kizzy and Sissix are definite favourites.
