Apologies for this rather late unboxing, dang university and all that. I'm finally catching up on the posts that I've missed out. When I saw the artwork for this box I was so excited, its beautiful - then again, every single one has been thus far. April's them was Whimsical Journeys and very little idea what would be included and no clue what the book would be. Safe to say I was incredibly happy with this month's box!
When I saw the cover of this I felt like I'd seen it somewhere before but I had absolutely no idea where. Safe to say it wasn't one I already owned, for once. I'm slowly getting better at reading what I have first...very slowly. The cover on this one is absolutely stunning, and the story sounds phenomenal. I mean ti has Celtic and Norse mythology in it, what could be more perfect?
**Taken from the back of the book**
The ancient land of Éirinn is mired in war. Ciara, Princess of Mide, has never known a time when Éirinn’s kingdoms were not battling for power, or Northmen were not plundering their shores.
The people of Mide have thankfully always been safe because of Ciara’s unearthly ability to control her enemies’ minds and actions. But lately, a mysterious crow has been appearing to Ciara, whispering warnings of an even darker threat. Although her clansmen dismiss her visions as pagan nonsense, Ciara fears this coming evil will destroy not just Éirinn, but the entire world.
Then the crow leads Ciara to Leif, a young Northman leader. Leif should be Ciara’s enemy, but when Ciara discovers that he, too, shares her prophetic visions, she knows he’s something more. Leif is mounting an impressive army, and with Ciara’s strength in battle the two might have a chance to save their world.
With evil rising around them, they’ll do what it takes to defend the land they love…even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all.
This flask is stunning. It was the first thing I saw when I opened the box and I'm pretty sure I squealed. It's decorated with a really colourful map of Narnia. A film franchise I adored and a series I've yet to read. I'll get to them eventually! I've always loved everything that Ink and Wonder has had in the Fairyloot boxes, but I think this has to be my favourite!
This I adore and have been using soon much. It's also got the boyfriends approval which is always nice! I adore the Lord of the Rings franchise, again I need to read the books but I will eventually get to them. Stella's Bookish Art is another one of my favourite companies that Fairyloot collaborates with. I always adore their designs, this one is no different. It's also really study, I've managed to stuff an awful lot of stuff into it!
This smells like hot man. Last time we got a Flick the Wick candle it was Hermione themed and thought I loved that I think I prefer this boxes. Titled Leif's Ship in keeping with the book this month it smells of Spruce, Fir and Sandalwood. It's a very heady scent but still has a bit of a fresh undertone. I love it. So much.
These next two are so cute. I haven't yet read The Darkest Minds but I intend to. It sounds right up my alley and this note pad is almost too pretty to use. I know I'm going to love this series just form the "let's carpe the hell out of this diem" quote. I can't recall if we've had anything from Little Inkling Designs but I certainly hope we get more in the future.
Then this, oh my god. I can't wait to put this on my luggage. I loved the Fantastic Beasts franchise, the Niffler is my favourite of the creatures. I can't wait to use this Tag from Lovely Owls Books.
The two art prints for this month are both gorgeous. As always we have the stunning artwork from Taratjah which gets pinned up on my bookcase every month. We also got, from Taratjah, as picture in the first few shots. A beautiful enamel pin of Blackjack the Pegasus from Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. This is definitely going on my jacket.
Then, from Fiction Tea Designs we have this incredible sign post print. It's so cute, I kinda want one of these for my garden now! It's so pretty and I love which places she chose for it!
So that was my April Fairyloot Unboxing!
