This was a reread for me as I'd forgotten virtually everything that had happened and wanted to finish the series. I'd picked the second book as part of my TBR for Tome Topple but knew I'd need to refresh myself with the characters.

Considering I don't reread books, at all virtually I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I'd forgotten almost all the things that happened, except for one particular scene where Alex is stood above Willow whilst she's asleep and sees her angel form for the first time.

This is very very of the time. Angel was published in 2010 and you can tell. It's a YA paranormal romance with a brooding dark male lead and a leading girl that just isn't like other girls and doesn't see herself as beautiful but clearly is and fixes cars and blahblahblah. No judgement, that was what was popular at the time. All that aside I still really loved my time reading this, it was fun and quick. Before I knew it I was invested in the story, the characters and the insta-love romance. I fell for it all. The plot moved quickly, the romance moved very quickly. They were besotted with each other from the get-go but did the whole 'I must push you away for you are my enemy' type thing. Got to enjoy a hate to love romance even if the hate didn't last allll that long.

I really liked both Willow and Alex. They were fun protagonists and I was really rooting for them as a couple. Then the villains of the story I found very interesting, mainly when one particular detail of their agenda was revealed.

There are undoubtedly some eye roll moments for me. I'm no longer the 'target audience' and the characters are sixteen/seventeen.

I'm now thinking about one day going back to some old favourites if the reread is going to be as enjoyable as this.
