20 Stories

The best kind of nights are the ones spent with the best people. I got a text from Sam saying be ready for seven, dress up we're going out. He refused to tell me where we were going.  I was so excited when the Uber dropped us off outside 20 Stories. I've never been before but heard about it from a few different people including Sam. He'd gone a few weeks before with his family and loved it.

Firstly, just look at that view. Oh my god. I couldn't believe it.

Secondly, the cocktails. Wow. Dangerously delicious.

The food was, as expected, incredible. I had the honey smoked duck which came with a goats cheese mousse and sourdough crisp thing. I could've eaten another three of these. Sam went for the mosaic of slow cooked chicken with foie gras, black chanterelles and a leek vinaigrette. I'd go back just for my starter honestly. Duck is possibly one of my favourite foods.

For main mine was a little bit some assembly required. I picked a sirlion steak with bearnaise sauce and triple cooked chips. Absolutely delicious. Sam went for the slow cooked pork belly with bubble and squeak, crispy hens' eggs and pork skin crackers. He was a very happy chap. I tried the crackers and oh wow. They were amazing.

It would've been rude not to have a dessert. We went for the honey and milk parfait to share. Like everything before it was lovely. It had so many little elements to make up the entire thing. There were shards of meringue, ice cream, cake-like items and all sorts.

I'd quite like to give their cheeseboard a go too...

We finished our night on the outside terrace with another cocktail.

What a wonderful evening, and a lovely surprise.

I definitely want to go back here!
